We sent this out to our email distribution friends earlier today...
How the Postal Action Impacts Linwood House Ministries
More and more of our friends and supporters are taking advantage of the ease of donating online. However, much of our support still comes in the form of cheques, and many of these arrive the old fashioned way – through the mail. Obviously this ongoing Postal disruption is bad news for smaller organizations like LHM.
How You Can Help
Donate online today. May we suggest that your gift of $50, $100 or $200 will go a long way to help us get back on track financially, despite the disruption. As always, our friends at CanadaHelps.org will be happy to process your donation and issue you a tax receipt.
We would also like to make you aware of a recent “discovery” we’ve made here at Linwood House. (The truth is this service has been available for quite a while, but we’re just getting around to learning about it!)
More and more of us are living our lives online, including our financial lives. Many of us are doing our banking either from a computer or even a cell phone. Interac eTransfer is a simple, convenient, and secure way to send and receive money directly from one bank account to another. All you need is access to online or mobile banking through a participating financial institution, and you can send money to anyone with an email address or mobile phone number and a bank account in Canada — without sharing any personal or financial information. It's a great alternative to cheques and cash, and the fees are considerably cheaper. You can learn more about eTransfer on the Interac site, or from your own online banking service. Quite frankly, this is critical during the postal disruption, but we think it makes more and more sense all the time. (When the disruption ends we will continue to encourage friends to use this convenient service!)
Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement of Linwood House Ministries, and for your additional participation during this challenging time.
