“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?” -Isaiah 43: 18, 19
This morning we are at Linwood House in the final stages of preparation for our spring Journey, which is set to begin this afternoon. A team has assembled here busying themselves to create a welcoming, sacred space for our friends from the downtown Eastside. Cakes are baking, flowers are arranged, cleaning is finished, pillows are fluffed, and prayers are being whispered that these next three days together will be rich with rest, friendship, healing and the touch of God.
Spring, the earliest moments of this season, invite us to really look closely at the tiniest beauty unfolding around us. Life - our stories - call us to do the same. To train our hearts and minds to see and experience the beauty in our brokenness, “bouquets of roses instead of ashes”.
This week we invite you to journey with us, as we journey here, looking closely for the beauty in each other, in our stories, and in ourselves.
Check back for some post Journey reflections, but until then, we are so grateful for your encouragement, support and prayers.

I was at this Journey, just got home late this afternoon. One thing that struck me is how much abundance the city holds ~ buildings, noises, people, places ~ and also how different so many familiar things seem and feel. Linwood House is a place of love. Every moment I felt it.
Many, many thanx. I will definitely be back.
xoxo
