It was a great privilege to give you all a glimpse into the Great Room and life as a radical hostess during the Olympics. One of my favorite experiences during that time was the Women's Circle. Every day, our team started off in a circle, sharing how we were feeling, breathing out the things we didn't want, breathing in the things we desperately needed for that day and taking another step on the journey together.
With the Olympics over and life returning to "normal", we have continued the Women's Circle at the Great Room and it has been an amazing time of sharing, prayer and deepening relationships. Last week, as we were reflecting on Easter week, we talked about Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. He too was looking to find himself in the comfort and security of the circle when he asked his disciples to stay awake with him and pray. They couldn't do it. They were too tired, focused on themselves perhaps, or maybe they would give some other excuse or reason. But the bottom line is they were invited into the circle and they missed it. They missed the opportunity to journey with Jesus during that crucial time, denying him what the had to offer but also what the experience had to offer them.
As I write this, I am up at Linwood House preparing for the spring Journey. Twelve women plus volunteers have been given the invitation to come and be part of the circle. This week we will find ourselves in many circles as we share, talk, pray, eat together, create and rest. The circle is a sacred place where transforming, healing things happen and where God always shows up.
We would appreciate your thoughts and prayers this week, and pray that you too will find yourself in the sacred embrace of the circle.
